Other Projects — Ruby Tompkins

This project focused on the events and the aftermath of the 1981 Toxteth riots. Whilst researching, I was drawn to the black and white photographs of the community and intrigued by the juxtaposition in expressions of the people compared to their surroundings.

This is a concept for a poster for Sound City 2021, in which I used a different technique to my usual illustrative style. Using bold blocks of colour, I encapsulated the ambience and aesthetic of a music festival.
